As a private, English-speaking Transylvania and Romania tour guide, Daniel Roșca helps you discover the local culture one level deeper in one of his guided tours of Romania. He'll bring you in contact with locals, suggest home-stays, visit both tourist sights and off-the beaten track spots and answer your questions about history, social life, ethnic groups and the current situation of Romania.
His tours are featured in the National Geographic Traveler Romania magazine and he was the main subject of a program on the national TV channel about promoting Romania's authenticity as a tourist attraction.
First we will have a phone or Skype discussion. Consequently, a tailor-made daily tour itinerary will be created by taking into considerations your expectations, schedule and budget.

Daniel is fascinated by the 4 faces of Romania: medieval, communist, rural and nature and enjoys sharing them with travelers. He likes the off the beaten track experiences, while also being very knowledgeable of history, main tourist sights and social and cultural issues.
Before working as a tour guide he worked on youth development within AIESEC, as well as community affairs and corporate social responsibility for Microsoft. He lived and worked in Brussels, Warsaw, Istanbul and Cairo and travelled to another 30 countries on 4 continents. Daniel studied Management and Sustainable Development and speaks English and bits of all the Latin languages. In 2010, he decided travel should be his way of life, returned home to Romania and founded Via Transylvania Tours.
He is also involved in sustainable rural development projects and actively promotes responsible travel in Romania.
